If you are curious here’s a bit more about me.

Cindy Saylor, Clinical Herbalist & Nutritionist

Plants help us to know ourselves better, they teach us how to care for the earth and they provide food and medicine. My training, the herbs and the green kingdom of plants have helped me transform my own life. My clients have also benefited from these same strategies and practices.  The practices I share are time honored traditions that support us in caring for ourselves and our loved ones.

I have over 1,700+ hours of training in herbalism, nutrition and vitalism. I am a native Californian and have lived in San Diego for most of my life. I love to spend time in nature, garden, cook, travel, explore art and hang out with my human, animal and plant families.

Teachers & Education

The Acorn School of Herbal Medicine The synergistic teachings of vitalist herbalism in the 21st century! Wow. It is an honor to be a part of this spectacular program. Programming, writings and teaching by the renowned Paul Bergner, North American Institute of Medical Herbalism. His knowledge is so deep, his ability to synthesize ancient herbalism from western, Arabic, Greek, Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions with modern scientific research is nothing short of mind blowing. Classes and the school are taught and facilitated by Heather Luna. A deeply knowledgeable, experienced clinical herbalist with a huge heart and the ability to explain the most complex subjects in an accessible way. Heather embodies a life deeply in love and loved by the plant and animal kingdoms. Her devotion to expanding the knowledge and use of the vitalist tradition through her own teachings and writings is inspiring.

American Herbalist Guild Certificate - Trauma Informed Herbalism in Clinical Practice. The annual symposium is a full basket of modern wisdom. I love devoting a couple of days each fall to the program. I always leave inspired.

School of the Sacred Wild * Boundless gratitude & love to my teacher Marysia. For teaching me what sacred space means, for teaching the example of co-creating loving community and for embodying what true love of self and the earth is.

*(formerly with: The Gaia School of Healing and Earth Education) Thank you to founder Sage Mauer for her beautiful inspired writings and programming.

Sage Country Herbs School of Botanical Studies Deep bows to my teacher Shana Lipner Grover for her great knowledge of the plants and ecosystems of Southern California and her encyclopedic understanding of the human body. You inspired me and taught me. Thank you.

Rosemary Gladstar - The Art & Science of Herbalism My first beloved herbal teacher (via her books).

David Ji At a key moment in my life your magical mediations reached out to me and helped pull me back onto my souls path. Not sure how you say thanks for that…but THANKS!

Gratitude to important teachers that have inspired my path: the plants for calling me in, the indigenous peoples of North America and all places on the earth, the frogs, hawks, dogs, cats and animals that teach me we are all sacred family.

To the many humans both here now and ancestors: Bioneers, Michael Meade, Maude Grieves, Robin Rose Bennett, Christa Sinadinos, Susan Weed, Hafiz and Rumi and countless others. I’ve also got official degrees like BAs, & MAs and a lifelong passion for being a student of the universe. I’m a cook, gardener, and regularly explore studies in anthropology, animals, human psychology, spirituality, art and lots of other things…but we can save that for another day.
